# Chapter 13: 13
Irene had a red bump the size of her thumb on her right cheek, and that was the only reason Margaret liked her.
She liked being able to stand out more because of the ugly maid she had around her.
Unaware of Margaret's true intentions, Irene carried out her duties as head maid with diligence and enthusiasm.
She especially liked to bully Radis.
—Radis, you know what? A la señora le gusto más yo que tú.
Those words tore the heart of young Radis.
Irene teased the girl as if she were a bitter older sister.
Irene did things the way she wanted, never delivered meals on time, and harassed Radis with mean methods. He even resorted to pouring water on the bed and then spread rumors about how Radis had wet the bed while sleeping.
It was only when Radis was sent to subjugate the monsters that Irene's harassment ended.
“The first thing I asked for after going to the subjugation was for Irene to be fired.”
Margaret kicked Irene out immediately, as if it weren't her orders that encouraged Irene to harass Radis.
Shortly after, Irene was found dead in a swamp near the farm.
People said that after being kicked out of the mansion, she probably threw herself into the swamp because she had nowhere else to go.
However, in retrospect, Radis realized that Irene was someone who knew the deadly secrets of the Tilrod family.
The fact that David, who everyone knew as the one who went out on missions to subdue monsters, was actually Radis.
To protect her son, Margaret took another person's life without hesitation.
—Y así también morí.
Una sombra se cernió sobre los ojos de Radis.
Not knowing what he was thinking, Irene shamelessly hit the bowl with a spoon.
—You are very lucky. You made the lady cry, and yet they keep feeding you.
The more Irene spoke, the colder Radis's eyes became.
"Both Irene and I... are alive. I have to accept it now."
That situation was not something like a dream or an illusion that one had before dying; It was real.
Radis looked at Irene with an icy gaze and then spoke.
—And what about my father?
-Milord?
Irene responded in a sarcastic tone.
—Thanks to you, he couldn't catch his breath when dealing with the accusations of fraudulent admission! How admirable, huh! What a good daughter you are!
Radis sighed exasperatedly.
In his previous life, Radis simply endured all of Irene's harassment silently.
She was so afraid that any wrong move could forever eliminate her chances of being loved by Margaret.
But now he no longer had to put up with Irene.
Radis picked up the bowl of soup and turned it upside down.
Above Irene's head.
Irene couldn't believe the hot liquid dripping from above.
—Ahhh! Ahhh!
—I've been too quiet until now, haven't I?
Radis slammed the bowl against Irene's head and looked her in the eyes.
—But I have decided not to stay still any longer. What's going to happen to you now that mom and dad are in so much trouble?
Radis could read the storm of emotions passing through Irene's eyes.
His initial surprise and indignation quickly disappeared.
The maid's eyes trembled as she seemed to remember all the things she had done in the past. Then, he lowered his gaze the moment he lost his will.
Radis almost laughed.
So she was that kind of person.
Radis placed the bowl on Irene's head and caressed it as if it were a nice hat.
—If you are curious about what is going to happen, then you can continue acting so bravely. But if you want to remain the head maid, you better be more careful what you say. And…
Radis picked up the spoon and tapped the edge of the soup bowl.
—Get me something that can be called food.
Irene left the room with her eyes wide open and the bowl still on her head.
