# 13
---
The next day, Scarlett takes a tram to Domfelt Palace.
After two hours of traveling from Crimson House, you arrived at the other end of the capital where Doomfelt Palace was located.
Domfelt Palace, which she visited almost a year later, was still awe-inspiring with its size. When she first saw him from inside the carriage, she felt like she was entering a new world.
Scarlett entered the drawing room and saw her ex-father-in-law, Gregory Domfelt. Just as his son was exceptionally handsome, Gregory was also attractive.
Despite his marriage, he met women indifferently.
Gregory considered this compensation for his miserable life.
When Scarlett entered, the woman who was on his knees quickly ran away. As for Gregory, he said calmly, as if he was waiting for her: “My son asked me. Did I intentionally send you to the Monastery of Melin, where the priest Delphio is, to torture you? As if everything that priest did to you was my fault.”
Scarlett replied: "I didn't say anything. My husband found out by chance."
Gregory, putting on a large ring, slammed papers on the table and said: “How could he find out by chance? You must have hinted at something.”
“They arrested Delfio by chance. He was the one who spoke.”
“Don't talk nonsense. He found out about a year later because you gave him a signal.”
Scarlett felt wronged and wanted to show her innocence, but she was afraid of Gregory's anger, so she remained silent.
“He got angry with me,” Gregory said in an agitated tone. “My son, who pitied me.”
It seems that his dispute with his son was very painful for him.
Scarlett hesitated for a long time, then knelt on the marble floor.
“If I upset you, I'm really sorry.”
She had learned that when Gregory was upset, he could only be calmed down by pleading.
Gregory calmed down a little, rubbed his mustache and said: “Talk to my son well.”
“What?”
“Convince him that this happened because of your weakness, and that the priest acted alone.”
Gregory always feared his son.
The Domfelt family was strange. When she was part of it, Scarlett felt like she was on a plain with no protection.
The place was driven by the logic of power, where whoever had more royal blood prevailed, whether between spouses or father and son.
In this context, Marina Domfelt, formerly a princess, was the most powerful, followed by Victor, who inherited half of her royal blood.
Scarlett nodded: “I will.”
“Go talk to him now. I miss my son.”
Gregory's face brightened slightly.
Scarlett heard footsteps from behind her, and without thinking, she looked up and saw Victor entering.
Gregory quickly got up: “Victor, my son! When did you arrive...”
Victor looked at the scene, then left as if surprised.
Gregory urged Scarlett: "What are you waiting for? Go after him!"
Scarlett got up late and followed him.
I almost ran over and grabbed his arm: “Victor.”
Victor turned and looked at her.
After two years of living together, I knew that his face, which might seem expressionless to others, was angry, and I knew why he was angry.
***
Victor chose Scarlett Crimson as his wife for two reasons.
Firstly, she was far from high society, as she was a legitimate daughter of a noble family who would not cause trouble.
Secondly, to him, who strongly disliked emotions, the Watchmakers Family seemed rational and logical.
The Crimson Family was the only noble family in the region. The villagers' livelihood depended on them, as they worked in their five factories or as servants.
However, when Scarlett saw the size of the Doomfelt family for the first time, the shock was indescribable.
Despite being Crimson's legitimate daughter, Scarlett has lived since the age of twelve doing all the housework, and is treated worse than a maid. For her, her first impression of Victor Domfelt was filled with admiration and fear. He looked like a king from an enemy kingdom who had come to subjugate a prince from a fairy tale I had read.
She did not feel that he was her husband, so she kept calling him “young master” like a servant, and she could not look into his eyes.
After marriage, they lived like this for a while. When Victor heard about a pirate ship off the coast, he went out to sea, returning a month later.
Scarlett, nearly collapsing from exhaustion, helped him stand. Rather, as she struggled, he almost fell with her, but he gathered himf and stood up.
She sat him down in the tea room and asked eagerly: “Are you tired? Shall I bring tea, young master?”
That day, while she was examining his face, Victor opened his mouth: “Why do you always call me Young Master?”
Scarlett was afraid of his question with sharp eyes, and she thought he was angry, so she did not answer.
"Answer me. Don't be annoying."
Scarlett shuddered at his cold tone, accustomed to orders and threats, and said: “Oh, I felt I had to.”
At her low voice, Victor made a sound of dissatisfaction, then leaned his head back, ran his hand through his hair, and closed his eyes.
'Does he hate when I call him young master?'
So, how should I call him?
'Does he want an official title?'
Scarlett thought for a long time, then cautiously approached and said: “Mr. Victor, if you are going to sleep, go to bed...”
He opened his eyes, looked at her, and then said: “The Crimson Family’s education is worse than I expected.”
Scarlett got angry and frowned: “Don’t insult my parents.”
“They taught you wrong.”
“No!”
“Being raised as a maid was a mistake.”
“It's not!”
Scarlett screamed, then, startled at herf, covered her mouth and stepped back.
Victor looked at her dissatisfied, then got up and bowed to her.
He began to take off his dark blue uniform, worn only for reports after naval battles, which had the smell of the sea.
Scarlett was surprised when he took off her belt, and she fell backwards, then quickly knelt down and began to plead: “I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for my response”
Victor looked at her for a moment, then moved closer.
As she looked at his shoes, his low voice was heard: “Husband is neither young master nor master. Call me by my name or title.”
“I...”
“I will not hit you. Do not kneel for anyone anymore.”
Her rapid breathing gradually calmed down upon hearing his rational voice, which she had never heard in the Crimson Family.
After looking at him for a while, I understood what he said, and quickly got up. She couldn't raise her head, so Victor lifted her chin with his fingertips.
“Raise your head and look into my eyes. You are not a servant.”
She looked at him with teary eyes.
Victor continued: "Go to bed. I've been at sea for a long time. Tonight, I have to hug you."
Scarlett nodded, trying to look at the floor, but quickly raised her head to look into his eyes.
He spoke commandingly, but, strangely, it felt less terrifying than the day they first met. The admiration faded a little, replaced by a strange tingling.
I ran to the bathroom.
Victor thought Scarlett was too young, so he did not ask her to share the bed after marriage. She wondered if she should ask.
'I'll share the bed with him tonight. I'm really his wife'
It aroused in her palpable fear, vague excitement, and slight happiness.

Scarlett recalled that day and said, “Since we’re divorced, it’s okay for me to kneel, right?”
“You know I have no pride.”
Victor replied: “I know your submission.”
"Yes. That's why I say, 'I need money. Help me.'"
She couldn't look into his eyes, so she looked at his shoes.
She reassured herf that she was not submissive, but rather had a strong will to live.
She repeated in her mind that life is like this, then she continued: “I was going to say that it is not your father’s fault, and I will implore you to calm down, not because you like it, but because I do not want to see this scene. But since you heard everything, I will be frank.”
“Living as your wife was harder than I expected. How much I had to do.”
Victor opened the door handle next to him, and pushed Scarlett inside.
He closed the door to an empty room, and leaned into it.
Scarlett blinked at his sudden movement.
"What do you do?"
"I'm curious. How prideless are you?"
He approached her until she leaned against the door and turned her head.
She heard his sarcastic laugh at her ear.
Victor grabbed her chin and turned her face to him and said: “I have the money, shouldn’t you have kneeled in front of me instead?”
