Today was Margaret's happiest day.
It was the day he was holding a banquet to celebrate his precious son's entry into the Imperial Academy.
—Everything has to be perfect today!
She closely supervised the layout of the garden, the decoration of the mansion, and the banquet dishes that would be served, but even when everything was hectic, a smile did not leave her lips.
She ordered the servants.
—The admissions officer from the Imperial Academy will arrive soon. The family cannot look bad. Everyone make sure to attend to it without reservation.
The servants bowed deeply.
Meanwhile, the beautiful Jurich was enthusiastic about the elegant banquet.
Jurich was wearing a light green dress that matched her pretty green eyes and was excited by the biggest cake she had ever seen. She circled around him while swinging her arms at her sides.
Margaret saw her and opened her arms.
—My pretty baby!
They hugged each other tenderly.
—What is your brother doing?
—It's in the library!
—In the library? How admirable!
—Nooo, he said he was going to take a nap because he had nothing else to do.
Margaret's brow furrowed.
—Ah, that child! The admissions officer will be arriving soon! Go wake up your brother.
—It's okay, mom!
Just as he was about to run towards it swinging his arms as he jumped, he suddenly looked back.
—Oh, by the way, mom! Where is Radis?
Margaret's voice became sharp.
—Radis? And what happens to her?
—Umm, it's a party to celebrate the arrival of my brother, right? Shouldn't the whole family be together?
-Alright. Aren't you leaving...?
-Alright.
—Bring back your brother!
Jurich nodded and turned around.
Then Margaret opened the front door.
At the end of the day, even Roto, the gardener, could attend wearing his one clean suit.
And yet Radis was not allowed to go.
No wonder that question came to Jurich's mind.
“Isn't Radis family too?”

—Thank you for inviting me.
Klein, the admissions officer of the Imperial Academy, entered the Tilrod House mansion with a smile on his face.
—You must have had a difficult time coming here.
Zade Tilrod, the family patriarch, greeted Klein, who was surprised to see Zade's mottled face and plump body.
As far as he knew, Zade had once been a promising and well-known knight in the South.
But the glory of the past could not be found in Zade's present.
Klein quickly controlled his features and hid his thoughts behind a polite smile.
—I am glad to be able to present the admission certificate from the Imperial Academy to the historic Tilrod House. How proud you must be to have an exceptional son!
Zade smiled bitterly at the admissions officer's words.
He was once a gentleman.
He knew better than anyone that David had no talent for chivalry.
Zade expected Radis to fail the test, but that stupid Radis passed it on David's behalf.
His hands were shaking just thinking about the future.
He grabbed a servant's shoulder and took a glass from his tray, downing it all in one gulp.
Then he opened his mouth.
—I'm very proud. Yes, I am very, very proud…
Margaret pulled Zade away, just as her hands began to shake, from the bewildered Zade.
—Come in! I am Margaret Tilrod and the owner of this house. David will be arriving soon. Ah, it's coming!
She was busy guiding Klein away from her husband, then pointed to the stairs that connected to the banquet hall.
With a helmet on his head, David was dressed in full armor as he walked down the stairs.
—Oh, David!
A smile appeared on Klein's face.
—In the entrance exam, David aroused everyone's admiration. I was very impressed by the eldest son of the Tilrod family. It was like Alexis Tilrod, the Sword of Fire…
As Klein spoke, David slowly approached.
Then, as if in slow motion, he unsheathed his sword… and pointed it directly forward.
Klein remained silent and stopped speaking.
Surprised, Margaret shook her head frantically.
—David! What are you doing?
Fortunately, David didn't get any closer.
Instead, he turned his head and looked around the banquet hall.
Still unsure of what was happening, the mansion's servants continued to smile as they watched David looking at the beautifully decorated banquet hall, the luxurious dishes on the long buffet table, and the tall cake decorated with many other sweets.
Then he raised his sword...
As if he wanted to cut a man, he cut off the top of the cake.
—AHHHHH!
Margaret let out a tearful cry.
Because the part of the cake that was thrown into the air landed exactly on Margaret's chest.
She couldn't resist the force behind the cake, so she fell backwards and staggered.
-That?! What is this?!
Zade, who was a little behind Margaret and Klein, shouted at him.
—David! What are you doing?
David didn't answer.
Instead, in one fluid motion, he wiped the cream off the blade with the tablecloth and then sheathed the sword once more.
He then approached Klein and extended his hand.
—The admission certificate.
When Klein's face turned pale, he handed over the envelope he was carrying under his arm.
David took it, opened the envelope that was sealed with a luxurious gold seal, and then took out the admission certificate.
David Tilrod, the eldest son of House Tilrod, passed the entrance exam with flying colors and was thus granted admission to the Imperial Academy.
Then, right in front of Klein's face...
David tore the certificate into pieces.
Margaret, who was removing the cream from her chest, screamed.
—David-!
Under the helmet, pink lips parted.
-No.
And he took off his helmet.
—…!
The Broken Gardener, who was nearby, dropped the hat he was holding in his hands.
—M-Miss Radis…?
Instead of David, the person under the armor was Radis.
