# 46

Episode 46
Ruelia quietly watched Billy running towards her.
I noticed something shining in his chest.
'What is this, dagger?'
It seems that the shameless culprit has come to take revenge.
'Well, the debt he ran up was huge.'
The sisters almost paid off his debts on his behalf.
Ruelia understood that he might be desperate enough to want to hurt them because of the debt he couldn't pay them, but that was his fault.
Ruelia calmly waited for his approach, drawing with her hand the signal agreed upon with the Aber Knights.
“Why didn't you answer my call?”
Billy barked as soon as he stood in front of the sisters.
'Would you have answered if you were me?'
Ruelia smiled softly without replying.
As I expected, the man behaved as expected. He took out a dagger from his chest.
He always became violent when he didn't get what he wanted.
“Because of you, I will be completely expelled from the Marquis family, and you are laughing?”
“Ellie!”
Melissa screamed in horror.
But Ruelia remained calm. Or was she a little surprised?
She thought that only the Aber Knights would be there, but an unexpected person suddenly appeared.
"Yes!"
Caelus stepped forward, leading the Aber Knights, and charged toward the man.
Caelus knocked the dagger out of the man's hand with his bare hand, then twisted his arm and threw it to the ground.
As expected, Billy couldn't resist and fell flat.
“Y-Save me!”
But his voice did not reach Kyles' ears.
The dagger that had fallen from the man's hand was clearly visible in his eyes.
'I will kill him.'
There was no longer any rationality in Kyle's eyes. When he reached out to hold the dagger, he heard a gentle voice.
"My lord Duke! Wait a minute!"
Focus returned to his eyes.
“Don't kill him!”
Ruelia crept among the Aber knights who surrounded the duke and the culprit.
Caelus loosened his grip on the dagger.
But his voice remained sharp.
“Have you forgotten what that bastard just tried to do?”
“Billy does despicable things?”
The knights' eyes widened. In such situations, the weak ones faint.
‘This is really helping us.’
Caelus joined their silent admiration with a wry laugh.
She's strong, which is great, but he was frustrated.
He wished she could lean on him in moments like these.
“Ruelia, you…”
“I don’t want your hands dirty with dirty blood.”
She was honest.
She didn't want the Duke to appear as a villain in front of others. She wanted to eliminate any possibility of that from the beginning.
She also had another goal.
"So, what do you want? You can't ask for his release out of pity."
Kyles laughed sarcastically again, but this time it was softer.
Ruelia gained confidence from this.
“Of course, he can't be released. Let's lock him up first.”
Ruelia raised the corner of her mouth evilly.
She was thinking that things were going better than she expected.
“If we torture him a little, he will speak out about what is behind him.”
Kyle's eyebrows rose.
“Who is behind him...”
“Yes, who would dare to target the Duke of Aber’s family? It must be someone big.”
Ruelia deliberately spoke to exaggerate the matter.
People began to gather after they noticed the commotion in the street.
'If the rumor spreads, I will win.'
Kyles nodded as he watched Ruelia's reaction.
Her advice always made sense. You never made a mistake by following it.
He always trusted her.
“Pull it.”
The Upper Knights immediately dragged Billy away.
Melissa swayed, dazed in shock.
Senior gently held her by the side.
“Are you okay, Miss Melissa?”
“Yes, I was shocked. I thought something bad would happen to Eli.”
“Fortunately, the Duke was nearby.”
Melissa looked at Kyles after the butler's words, then at her sister's eyes.
Suddenly, Ruelia exclaimed.
"My lord Duke! Wait a minute!"
She grabbed his arm without hesitation. Kyles tried to pull his arm.
But he was unable to break free from the grip of a small, weak woman.
"Blood! You're bleeding!"
“I'm fine...”
He tried to speak but he closed his mouth.
He saw tears welling up in Ruelia's eyes.
“What do we do? You were cut while blocking the dagger with your hands. Doesn’t it hurt?”
Kyles looked calmly at his hand. It was smeared with blood, slightly congealed.
He didn't feel any pain. That was expected.
Because it was not his blood. It may have been sprayed from the attacker's head when he hit his head on the ground.
“Let's go in first. You need to be treated.”
Kyles hesitated for a moment.
If they treat him, they will discover that he was not injured.
"No, I'm fine. This doesn't need treatment."
He gently pushed her hand with light force.
“Go in and take care of your sister. She seems very shocked.”
“But...”
“I'll go now. Senior, let's go back.”
“Yes, sir.”
Senior Melissa greeted.
“Miss Melissa, let’s have tea together another time.”
“Ah, yes, the butler.”
Cales quickly got into the Duke's family carriage.
Senior smiled gently as he looked at him, as if observing his grandson's amusement.
“Go.”
Ruelia looked with eyes full of regret at the carriage driving away.
She felt a strange pain in her heart.
Was it because the Duke was injured, or because he rejected her hand and left?
"It won't be anything big. It's the Duke, isn't it?"
Melissa patted her sister on the shoulder from behind, calling to her.
“True, the doctor will take better care of his wound than me.”
Ruelia quickly got rid of her feelings,
As usual. There were more pressing matters on her heart now.
“But, Melissa, don’t you have something you want to say?”
Melissa's face suddenly reddened at Ruelia's simple question.
* * *
Kyles looked at his hand inside the cart.
When he wiped it with Senior's handkerchief, a perfectly clean hand appeared, with no bruises.
"The assistant was so shocked. Why didn't you tell her you were okay?"
Unusually for the gentle Senior, his eyebrows were raised with a look of rebuke.
“I was distracted.”
“I won't help you if you get in trouble with the help later.”
“If I'm not injured, wouldn't that be a good thing? Why are you talking like you're angry?”
“Lying is the problem.”
“I never said I was hurt.”
He was never a liar.
However, if she was going to be upset, he could make a bruise now.
Then, Ruelia will care about him and forget about others.
'Oh crazy! It was thoughts like these that made Ruelia blush in front of another man.'
Kyles rubbed his forehead with a frown.
The more he did, the more Ruelia became more and more in his mind, scolding him one after another.
Senior gave a compassionate look and said:
“The Guard Commander’s concern is not with helping us, but with Miss Melissa.”
Cayce's frown suddenly faded.
"Is this correct?"
“Our assistant was watching carefully to see if he was suitable as her sister’s husband.”
Senior laughed softly as he saw Caelus relax.
It's never been this clear.
Recently, Kyles' troubled face now looked more stable and happy.
“Why don't you confess your feelings to Help?”
Kyle's eyebrows rose.
Well, after observing him for years, it was strange that the butler didn't know his heart.
Kyles shook his head after a moment.
“No, not now.”
“If you don't speak up, your feelings won't get through.”
“I know. But if I speak now, she will definitely flee.”
If he got too close to her, she was always preparing to run away.
If he asked her to become a duchess, he might lose her forever.
Maybe you won't even accept the assistant position.
“So, what's your plan?”
“Eliminate the reasons for her escape first.”
There was no longer confusion in Caelce's eyes.
