# 44

Eating lunch was a hassle.
The Empress was avoiding looking at Cyrtain, and Veronica was dissatisfied with this. The food that was being forced into his stomach seemed to be dancing in his stomach.
'It's better if I eat alone.'
Sertin sighed.
He felt as if the pain was reaching his head, so he started wiping his forehead. When he walked out of the Empress's palace, he felt as if breathing had become easier.
“Did you eat well?”
Certain glanced at Mortega and continued walking. He didn't need to answer.
Mortega followed behind him as he walked.
This suffering was not the end. He had to confront the Emperor who was inundated with drugs.
He felt as if his fatigue was building more and more.
"Oh, my husband! He's my husband!"
He heard a sweet sound like a wave hitting a stone and breaking like a jewel.
Sertin turned his head irresistibly. It was as if I was drawn to something.
He saw Evelyn waving her hand widely at him.
“Haha.”
Certain smiled without realizing it. Her toes were exposed outside her skirt when she lifted her toes. Fortunately, she's not barefoot today.
There was Julia beside her.
Syrtin covered his mouth, but his eyes couldn't hide his wide smile. Mortega had noticed this too.
“Fortunately... she seems to have recovered.”
"truly."
As Sertin stopped, Evelin ran towards him. She was wearing a golden ray color dress that made her look even more radiant.
Her face was shining as if it was shining in the sunlight.
He remembered the life of Evelyn who had been in his hands yesterday. Her body was very light, like a feather.
Evelin stood in front of him lightly. She was the only one standing like this and moving in this palace. Evelyn's scent attracted him. He felt as if his headache was going away
“Husband, where are you going?”
“Have you eaten?”
“Oh, yes, I ate that much!”
Evelyn gestured with her hand, forming a large circle. She was smiling like children do. Then she pushed her stomach forward and pressed it with her fingers.
“Look, my belly has gotten this big!”
“Well done. Did you take your medicine?”
"Yes."
“Well done.”
Julia answered on Evelyn's behalf. Evelyn was babbling and frowning.
"When I woke up this morning, it was strange. There was no Rosalina, no Serena, no Rosie. Where did everyone go?"
“Since they have not done their duty, they will be where they should be.”
All the servants who were working in the Crown Princess' palace were arrested. They were not only fired, but arrested.
Among them, they were working to find Spellman's spies through interrogation.
"Yes."
“Do you want to see them?”
"no!"
Evelyn shook her head.
“Today I'm going to go play with my other friends. In a little while, Roderick and Leah will come to visit.”
"I'm glad that's the case. Enjoy."
Sirtain gently praised Evelin as he pinched her nose. Evelyn was in exaggerated pain.
"Yes."
“Don't do dangerous things.”
“What? Evelyn is not in danger! Evelyn is a lady!”
“Yes, as if you were a lady.”
Evelyn shook her head enthusiastically. Sertin rubbed her cheeks, which had turned pink from being so pale.
The pink color looked as if it was from rose water
“If it gets serious, don't forget to call me.”
Evelyn opened her eyes wide.
"I promise you!"
"Okay, that's a promise. Shall we eat together for dinner today?"
“Let's eat something delicious!”
Evelyn shook her head enthusiastically. Sertine rubbed her cheeks gently.
“Ask Julia to bring you snacks. Delicious things.”
“Lots of it!”
Evelyn laughed happily. When Sirten saw her, he felt that his heart became happier. All the negative emotions he felt moments ago were gone.
Evelyn is safe.
She was still smiling at him.
Those tears that used to tear his heart in the morning no longer fell.
Sertin felt much better just seeing her smiling.
“Now go.”
Evelyn shook her head enthusiastically. He gently pushed Sirtain onto her back.
While Julia bowed to him, Cyrtain watched them from afar.
Mortega also watched them with a surprised look.
'What... did you just see?'
The day he was dining at the Empress's palace was a challenging day. Sertine had been in a bad mood all day.
But despite that, he was smiling. His face looked light, as if his worries had disappeared.
This...this...
Mortega swallowed his words.
Even the idea was considered blasphemous, so he decided to bury it.
Emperor's Palace
A paradise of decadence and corruption. The sounds of women laughing and silly men laughing.
The smells suffocating the nose, the smell of medicines hidden behind, all the things that did not fit in the Emperor's Palace were collected.
Even though it was afternoon, all the windows were covered with curtains to keep out sunlight.
The butler ran towards him.
“His Highness the Crown Prince.”
“What about His Majesty?”
He meant whether the situation was appropriate to speak. The butler smiled awkwardly.
“I want to talk to my father.”
“I'll go get him.”
The butler headed to the throne room, and through the small hole in the door, Cyrtain saw the Emperor chasing a naked woman.
“Stand there! If I catch you, I will punish you severely!”
"Oh my god. I'm really looking forward to what kind of punishment you're going to give me?"
The woman was running towards the door panting. The butler tried to close the door quickly, but the woman's eyes met Sirtain's eyes through the opening.
The woman smiled a seductive smile.
“Oh, I believe we have a guest, Your Majesty.”
“I got you.”
The Emperor hugged the parked woman from behind. The sight made Certain feel disgusted
Certain's expression became colder.
“Y-Your Majesty, His Highness the Crown Prince requests an audience with you.”
“Oh, was it today?”
“Yes, today.”
“Hmm. Then tell him to come in, that’s okay. We can talk anywhere, it better be a comfortable atmosphere.”
“But…this…”
“Ah.”
The woman curled up in the Emperor's arms. The Emperor pushed the butler away and opened the door himf.
"Ah, Sirtain! It's been a long time! Have you been okay? Come inside, come in! Ha-ha-ha, would you like to drink wine? Or tea?"
Sertin looked around slowly. The atmosphere was crazy. He almost shouted obscene words, but he tried hard to restrain himf.
Even this early, no one was properly dressed. Everyone was completely relaxed, their eyes half closed, as if they were under the influence of drugs.
A woman staggered towards Sertin and almost hugged him, but he pushed her away.
“I don't need anything, Your Majesty.”
“Hmm, then why did you come here?”
The Emperor smiled wryly and tilted his head.
Why did I come here?
Why are you my father?
Why are you an emperor?
Sertin clenched his hand.
Although he was deputy and charge d'affaires, he did not have all the powers. In order to punish Augustin, a high-ranking nobleman, the Emperor's approval was required.
Of course he can create evidence.
He was able to find witnesses.
But he could not forge the Emperor's approval.
Sertin gripped his hand tightly. He wanted to repay the sacrifices Evelyn made and the tears she shed.
This was the reason why he had to endure all this suffering all day long.
“Augustin harmed Nabil. He must be punished.”
“Augustin? Isn’t this boy a relative of mine? To you, he’s like a cousin.”
Silly things like this.
So, you mean Evelin is a cousin, right? Are you crazy?
Sertin smiled coldly.
“Did you really come for this?”
“Of course, of course. Hmm, this boy can't be punished.”
"There is evidence and witnesses. The nobles may rebel."
“Send a message to Duke Spelman, and tell him to handle it.”
The Emperor smiled broadly.
He desperately wanted to kill him.
